Responsibilities

• Curate and edit lineups for thestar.com and the mobile app to maximize audience engagement.
• Produce creative digital packages using visuals, multimedia, and social media to capture reader attention.
• Manage live coverage for breaking news events, including weather, elections, and major news stories.
• Execute social media strategies by crafting engaging copy that drives reader interaction.
• Utilize analytics, SEO, and platform insights to shape coverage and optimize story release timing.
• Collaborate with editors and reporters to identify and enhance high-impact journalism.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven track record working at a high-traffic news outlet.
• Expertise in digital-first journalism and strong editorial judgment.
• Proficiency with digital publishing tools, analytics, and social media platforms.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
• Capacity to perform accurately and fairly under the pressure of a live news environment.
