Digital Forensics Systems Specialist

Responsibilities

• Support and sustain digital forensic laboratory systems and infrastructure for federal investigations
• Lead technical initiatives to modernize digital forensic capabilities while maintaining evidentiary integrity
• Plan and manage technical projects ensuring adherence to federal schedules and budgets
• Perform system validation and functional testing for new forensic tools and platforms
• Develop and maintain forensic documentation for audits, accreditation, and legal proceedings
• Provide hands-on technical support for information systems supporting forensic examinations and evidence storage
• Ensure forensic systems comply with federal policies regarding data integrity and access control
• Monitor system performance and security to ensure uninterrupted investigative operations
• Implement automation to increase examiner efficiency

Requirements

• Expertise in Digital Forensics including tools and workflows for computer, mobile, and media examinations
• Experience supporting forensic laboratory environments for law enforcement or regulatory investigations
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking with Cisco and Fortinet technologies
• Expert experience with virtualized environments including VMware, Nutanix, Azure, and AWS
• Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) such as Citrix or VMware Horizon
• Ability to support systems under federal cybersecurity and information assurance requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• IACIS Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE)
• BCERT / ACERT certifications
• SANS certifications (GCFE, GCFA, or equivalent)
• Prior federal or state Law Enforcement experience as a Digital Forensic Examiner
