Digital Forensic Examiner III

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to junior Lab personnel in data extraction and analysis techniques
• Act as technical lead in executing search warrants involving digital evidence retrieval
• Conduct research on mobile devices, computers, third-party apps, and cloud storage
• Use reverse engineering to support investigations involving cryptocurrency, malware, and IoT devices
• Develop custom scripts using Python to analyze extracted data
• Assist Lab Director in maintaining internal policies and ensuring accreditation compliance
• Perform data recovery on Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS, and Linux based devices
• Write thorough forensic reports and testify in Grand Jury and Trial proceedings

Requirements

• Experience in digital forensic analysis and data extraction
• Proficiency with various operating systems including Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS, and Linux
• Ability to perform light physical effort and work in a laboratory environment
• Ability to handle exposure to offensive images and data

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Computer Forensics, Computer Science, Computer Security, or Information Security with 3 years of experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Forensics or Cyber Security with 4 years of experience
