About the role

Responsibilities

  • Handle, label, prepare, fortify, track, and deliver human milk and pediatric formulas following safety guidelines.
  • Verify recipes against feeding orders in the electronic health record to generate accurate labels and production lists.
  • Deliver prepared nutritional products to patient rooms using appropriate patient identifiers.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment using aseptic techniques and strict equipment cleaning procedures.
  • Collaborate with registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) and other healthcare disciplines to fulfill Milk Room requests.
  • Protect confidential patient information and communicate effectively with team members.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift at least 15 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in food and nutrition, dietetics, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of newborn and pediatric nutrition.
  • Experience with the safe handling, preparation, and fortification of human milk and infant formula.
  • Experience using aseptic techniques and electronic health records.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
