Dietary Aide

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation and the service of meals to patients and families
• Ensure all meals and snacks are delivered according to scheduled times
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food areas, including scrubbing floors and sanitizing equipment
• Wash, dry, and store dishes and kitchen utensils
• Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies in the storeroom
• Follow all Federal and State long-term care regulations and dietary department policies
• Report equipment malfunctions, supply needs, or safety hazards to the Dietary Supervisor
• Follow established infection control and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding directions in English
• Strong basic math skills for meal preparation and measuring cleaning agents
• Ability to work part-time evening and weekend shifts (2pm - 6pm)

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in institutional dietary services
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in meal preparation and service
• Food Safety Certification
