Diesel Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform daily preventative and corrective maintenance on a transport fleet of trucks, tankers, and semi-trailers
• Inspect and maintain trailers in compliance with all DOT requirements
• Maintain and troubleshoot braking, hydraulic, and air systems
• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, air filter changes, and suspension system service
• Manage vehicle maintenance files and DOT compliance documentation
• Coordinate emergency maintenance, breakdown repairs, and outside equipment repairs
• Maintain the truck shop area, including ordering parts, oils, and lubricants

Requirements

• Valid driver's license
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Experience performing maintenance on braking, hydraulic, and air systems
• Ability to travel up to 50%
• Ability to obtain HAZWOPER training and perform spill response duties if required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in the petroleum industry
• Mechanic certification or completion of a 2-year technical program in truck mechanics
• Professional experience with diesel engines and semi-trailers in oil and gas operations
