Diesel Technician

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain GFL’s Diesel and CNG fleet under the guidance of shop leadership.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on brake systems, engine components, emission systems, steering, and wheel bearings.
• Conduct test drives to diagnose malfunctions and ensure vehicles are in proper operating condition.
• Execute electronic diagnostics and repair electrical equipment and hydraulic systems.
• Perform DOT and brake inspections on all vehicles to ensure fleet safety and readiness.
• Complete administrative duties including work orders, parts ordering, and daily reports.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with all safety regulations.

Requirements

• 3+ years of diesel and CNG maintenance experience.
• Valid Brake Safety Certificate.
• 609 A/C system certification.
• Strong knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Computer literacy and ability to use diagnostic software.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to work the night shift (4pm-4am, M-F).

Preferred Qualifications

• Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• ASE certifications.
• Experience using advanced diagnostic software.
