About the role
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline-powered trucks and snow removal equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to minimize downtime
- Repair and maintain hydraulic and electrical systems, including plows and salt spreaders
- Conduct emergency field service repairs during snow operations
- Assist with fabrication, welding, and equipment modifications
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
- Ensure compliance with federal and state safety requirements
- Keep tools, equipment, and shop areas clean and safe
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Proven experience repairing heavy trucks (diesel and gas)
- Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
- Welding experience
- Must supply own tools
- Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and on-call shifts during snow events
- Ability to travel locally for field service calls
- Must pass a background check and DOT drug test
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical educational training in Mechanics
- Prior experience with snowplows and snow removal equipment
- Class B CDL
