Diesel Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline-powered trucks and snow removal equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to minimize downtime
• Repair and maintain hydraulic and electrical systems, including plows and salt spreaders
• Conduct emergency field service repairs during snow operations
• Assist with fabrication, welding, and equipment modifications
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
• Ensure compliance with federal and state safety requirements
• Keep tools, equipment, and shop areas clean and safe

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Proven experience repairing heavy trucks (diesel and gas)
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
• Welding experience
• Must supply own tools
• Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and on-call shifts during snow events
• Ability to travel locally for field service calls
• Must pass a background check and DOT drug test

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical educational training in Mechanics
• Prior experience with snowplows and snow removal equipment
• Class B CDL
