Diesel/Heavy Duty Truck Technician

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, or overhaul buses, trucks, and heavy equipment
• Diagnose malfunctions and consult with customers on diagnostic results
• Read and interpret diagnostic test results
• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and engines
• Repair or replace malfunctioning mechanical or electrical components
• Test-drive vehicles to ensure correct operation after repairs
• Use hydraulic jacks or hoists to raise heavy parts and equipment

Requirements

• Certificate from a Technical or Trade School
• 1-3 years of technician experience
• Current valid Driver’s License
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch throughout the workday
• Ability to move equipment and parts weighing up to 50 pounds
• Must pass a criminal background check, MVR check, and drug test

Preferred Qualifications

• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• DOT health card
