Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician II

Responsibilities

• Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to maximize safety and reliability
• Conduct FAI/CVI (Annual) inspections on tractors, trailers, converter dollies, and light-duty vehicles in accordance with legal regulations
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications for engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, and HVAC
• Address Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) write-ups in a timely and efficient manner
• Complete electrical repairs and welding projects as needed
• Document all work performed accurately on work orders using company computer programs

Requirements

• Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training
• High school diploma or GED
• 2-3 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair
• Current and valid driver's license
• Proficiency in electrical meter testing
• Basic welding and cutting skills (gas, electric, MIG, TIG)
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• ASE certifications in Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks
• 609 HVAC Certification
• Annual Inspector Certification
• Brake Inspector Certification
