Die Designer

Responsibilities

• Create concepts and designs for products including moulds, tools, and extrusion dies using CAD software based on customer specifications.
• Review customer drawings and specifications to ensure manufacturing feasibility.
• Design tools and dies accurately and efficiently within specified time frames.
• Investigate design possibilities in relation to manufacturing equipment limitations, costs, and material availability.
• Manage engineering CAD files in an organized format and create detailed bills of materials.
• Participate in design review meetings and work closely with the tool room to guide the manufacturing process.
• Prepare layouts and detailed drawings to ensure designs meet customer and machine specifications.
• Provide technical input to the business development team for client quotations.
• Stay updated on market trends, material technologies, and design influences.

Requirements

• Diploma in engineering or Tool Design.
• 3-5 years of experience in Tool & Die Design or as a Tool and Die Maker.
• Hands-on experience with 3D Modelling.
• Proficiency in designing various types of moulds, tools, extrusion dies, and press tools.
• Knowledge of machining operations, metal properties, heat treatment processes, and cutting tools.
• Understanding of CNC programming, G-codes, and NC machining.
• Knowledge of the Aluminium Extrusion process and Electrode design for EDM operations.
