About the role
Responsibilities
- Facilitate weekly 1-hour group sessions
- Take attendance and track participation
- Set up and clean up program space
- Distribute program materials and resources
- Introduce guest speakers as needed
- Communicate reminders to participants
- Foster a supportive and inclusive group environment
Requirements
- Lived experience with Type 2 Diabetes
- Prior participation in a Diabetes Education Program (DEP)
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Compassionate and supportive approach
- Ability to lead group discussions
- First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Food Safety certification or willingness to obtain
- Full vaccination against COVID-19
