About the role

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate weekly 1-hour group sessions
  • Take attendance and track participation
  • Set up and clean up program space
  • Distribute program materials and resources
  • Introduce guest speakers as needed
  • Communicate reminders to participants
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive group environment

Requirements

  • Lived experience with Type 2 Diabetes
  • Prior participation in a Diabetes Education Program (DEP)
  • Strong communication and active listening skills
  • Compassionate and supportive approach
  • Ability to lead group discussions
  • First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
  • Food Safety certification or willingness to obtain
  • Full vaccination against COVID-19
