DFMA Engineer

Responsibilities

• Evaluate horizontal and vertical assemblies for buildability and cost
• Participate in per-project DFMA reviews and weekly engineering calls
• Represent buildability in discussions with architects and consultants
• Work with Design Engineering to ensure models reflect build reality
• Map build and process information into models, including parts, kits, and panels
• Review production plans, assembly views, and release readiness for modules
• Create handoff documentation and shop drawings for new processes
• Diagnose and resolve factory floor issues such as tolerance stackups and alignment
• Build project-specific mockups and first articles
• Author set instructions and provide hands-on support during field set and button-up

Requirements

• Hands-on building background in carpentry, framing, or residential/commercial construction
• Ability to fluently read architectural and structural drawing sets
• Comfort working in a CAD or BIM environment (Revit, Onshape, or similar)
• Strong communication skills to bridge architects, engineers, and builders
• Highly organized with strong follow-through capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to MEP trades
• Experience in a factory, shop, or prefab environment
