About the role
Responsibilities
- Mentor DevOps engineers and promote a culture of automation, GitOps, and continuous improvement
- Design and implement scalable infrastructure automation across GCP and on-prem using Terraform and GitOps practices
- Manage and harden GKE clusters including node pool configuration, access control, and GKE Fleet management
- Operate and extend GitOps delivery pipelines built on FluxCD
- Manage secret lifecycle using HashiCorp Vault, GCP Secret Manager, and SOPS/KMS encryption
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab
- Manage and evolve service mesh using Istio
- Enforce platform policies using OPA Gatekeeper
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize environments using Prometheus, Grafana, Kiali, and Fluent Bit
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response
Requirements
- 5+ years in DevOps, Cloud, or SRE roles
- Strong hands-on experience with GCP (GKE, IAM, VPC, GKE Fleet)
- Proficiency in Terraform
- Solid Kubernetes experience (cluster operations, RBAC, network policies)
- Experience with GitOps principles and FluxCD
- Hands-on experience with Istio or similar service mesh
- Experience with HashiCorp Vault
- Experience with OPA Gatekeeper and External Secrets Operator
- Strong scripting skills in Bash and/or Python
- Experience with Prometheus and Grafana
- Demonstrated use of AI or LLM tools to improve infrastructure work
- Authorized to work in Bulgaria
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ScaleOps
- Experience with Cilium or eBPF-based CNI tools
- Experience with Flagger for progressive delivery
- Experience with KEDA for event-driven autoscaling
- Familiarity with SOPS and KMS
