DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate an AWS-based cloud platform focusing on stability, scalability, and security
• Operate and optimize Kubernetes/EKS environments including namespaces, RBAC, and NetworkPolicies
• Build and maintain reusable CI/CD components using GitLab CI/CD
• Design GitOps-based deployment processes with Flux, Helm, and Kustomize
• Automate infrastructure and AWS resources using Terraform and Crossplane
• Manage secrets and sensitive configurations with SOPS and AWS KMS
• Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenSearch
• Enable development teams to manage deployments and platform usage independently

Requirements

• Experience in DevOps, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or SRE
• Hands-on knowledge of AWS (EKS, IAM/IRSA, S3, KMS, RDS/Aurora, and networking)
• Production experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD, ideally GitLab CI/CD
• Understanding of GitOps principles and tools like Flux, Helm, or Kustomize
• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Crossplane)
• Understanding of monitoring, observability, and alerting
• Fluent communication in German and English (C1 level or above)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in regulated environments or audit requirements
• Experience with on-call, incident response, or runbooks
• Certifications such as CKA or AWS Solutions Architect Associate
