DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the infrastructure and operational systems supporting engineering teams
• Build safer deployment paths with automated health checks and rollback plans
• Improve production reliability across infrastructure, data stores, queues, and logs
• Lead infrastructure migrations and environment changes across Heroku, AWS, ECS, and RDS
• Strengthen observability and incident response through better alerts, dashboards, and runbooks
• Support SOC2 and security readiness by improving infrastructure controls and access patterns
• Improve local development and staging environments to reduce engineer friction

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering
• Strong production experience with AWS (ECS, RDS, networking, IAM, DNS)
• Experience operating or migrating systems on Heroku or AWS
• Deep understanding of CI/CD, deployment automation, and rollback strategies
• Strong observability and incident-response experience
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation scripting
• Ability to read backend application code and make small backend changes
• Strong security and access-management judgment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SOC2 and security audits
• Knowledge of Redis, background workers, and queue systems
• Experience with Datadog, Sentry, GitHub Actions, Terraform, or Cloudflare
• Proficiency with Docker, Django/Python, or TypeScript
