Development Scientist

Responsibilities

• Support new product development by developing formulations, combination products, and devices
• Execute a wide range of experiments, technical studies, and scientific tasks
• Design and execute new methods and protocols
• Manage or contribute to projects in support of Brand Innovation strategy
• Produce departmental quality documentation including SOPs, batch documents, and validation reports
• Maintain precise experimental records and issue reports at project milestones
• Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with EHS standards and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)

Requirements

• BS in Food, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Biological, or related science
• 3 years of relevant experience working in a GMP lab setting
• Ability to apply scientific principles and techniques to assigned projects
• Ability to organize and report study data from internal and external sources

Preferred Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Biological, or related science
• 2 years of demonstrated experience in successful formulation or product development
• Experience in the Pharmaceutical or OTC industries
• Experience with oral solid dosage forms (tablets, caplets, softgels) and liquids (suspensions, syrups)
• Proficiency in R&D development processes and the associated commercial environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Basic understanding of statistics and its application to experimental work
