Development Review Engineer

Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering and permitting reviews for land development applications, including land divisions, site plans, and construction permits.
• Ensure compliance with state laws, County codes, and Engineering Design Standards.
• Coordinate reviews with Planning, Public Works Traffic Division, and external permitting agencies.
• Review engineering plans, permits, reports, specifications, studies, and as-builts.
• Assess proposed development plans for stormwater management designs to protect surface and groundwater.
• Provide expert testimony and presentations at County Hearing Examiner and public meetings.
• Act as a liaison between the Public Works Department and Planning Department staff.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience as a Permit Technician.
• Two years of customer service experience.
• Two years of administrative/office support experience within a public environment.
• Knowledge of County land development practices, procedures, and relevant federal, state, and local laws.
• Valid Driver’s License with proof of automobile insurance.
• Acceptable background and driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate or progress toward certification.
• Prior experience in construction or project management.
• Experience in the public sector and working with intergovernmental or inter-agency agreements.
