About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement plans to support donor management and stewardship strategies
  • Conceptualize, organize, and execute event activities to engage donors and alumni
  • Contribute to prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and recognition processes
  • Write project-specific proposals and complex donor reports for fundraising campaigns
  • Manage logistics for fundraising activities, including direct mail, email, and telefund
  • Analyze giving trends and donor patterns to provide strategic recommendations
  • Supervise and check the work of work-study students

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of experience
  • Minimum of three years of recent experience in philanthropy, fundraising, or advancement
  • Demonstrated knowledge of donor relations, stewardship, and fundraising best practices
  • Experience with prospect identification and cultivation across the donor lifecycle
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for crafting compelling donor messaging
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience using donor database systems (e.g., ARBOR)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a university or higher education environment
  • Familiarity with University of Toronto policies and the Division of University Advancement
