Responsibilities

• Support the Project Core Team in bringing products from conception to market release
• Create 3-D CAD models and engineering drawings
• Work directly with surgeons in Operating Room environments to generate and validate user needs
• Support Design History File and Risk Management File creation and maintenance
• Generate verification/validation protocols and summarize testing results
• Perform product lifecycle management including investigating customer complaints and CAPAs
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure cost-effective design for manufacturability
• Solve surgical problems through mechanical hardware engineering solutions

Requirements

• BS in mechanical or biomechanical engineering from an ABET accredited school
• Strong mechanical design skills
• Understanding of machining, casting, forging, or forming processes
• Familiarity with geometric tolerancing and dimensioning (GD&T)
• Ability to travel as needed
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

• Work experience in the medical device industry
• Expertise in spinal fusion implants and related instrumentation
• Familiarity with Unigraphics/NX CAD systems
• Knowledge of clinical, regulatory, and technical requirements for spine fusion products
