Responsibilities
- Support the Project Core Team in bringing products from conception to market release
- Create 3-D CAD models and engineering drawings
- Work directly with surgeons in Operating Room environments to generate and validate user needs
- Support Design History File and Risk Management File creation and maintenance
- Generate verification/validation protocols and summarize testing results
- Perform product lifecycle management including investigating customer complaints and CAPAs
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure cost-effective design for manufacturability
- Solve surgical problems through mechanical hardware engineering solutions
Requirements
- BS in mechanical or biomechanical engineering from an ABET accredited school
- Strong mechanical design skills
- Understanding of machining, casting, forging, or forming processes
- Familiarity with geometric tolerancing and dimensioning (GD&T)
- Ability to travel as needed
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience in the medical device industry
- Expertise in spinal fusion implants and related instrumentation
- Familiarity with Unigraphics/NX CAD systems
- Knowledge of clinical, regulatory, and technical requirements for spine fusion products
