Development Engineer in UAS and Communication Systems

Responsibilities

• Develop robust communication links for UAS applications through simulation, analysis, and performance optimization
• Develop, integrate, and configure drone platforms and associated communication systems
• Plan and execute user tests and field trials in realistic environments
• Perform requirement specification, testing, verification, and validation of drone systems and autonomous functions
• Integrate communication systems and payloads such as sensors (EO/IR, LiDAR, radar) with real-time critical sensor data analysis
• Analyze system performance, robustness, and reliability in communication and signal environments

Requirements

• Academic degree in Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or similar
• Professional experience in industry, defense, or commercial sectors related to drone technology
• Experience with RF, communication systems, or signal processing
• Proficiency with simulation tools such as Matlab
• Experience building, configuring, or modifying communication components in drone systems
• Experience flying or controlling drones (manually or autonomously)
• Experience conducting testing, verification, and validation in lab or field environments
• Fluency in Swedish and English
• Swedish citizenship is required due to security clearance requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Development experience within the UAS industry
• Personal or professional drone certificates/licenses
• Experience specifying requirements in an industrial context
• Knowledge of autonomous systems or AI
• Experience with regulatory requirements (e.g., EASA or military regulations)
• Programming skills, specifically Python
• Previous experience in a consulting role
