Development Engineer 5 (VOIP&SIP)

Responsibilities

• Define and own the technical architecture for core VoIP real-time communications services
• Lead the development and operation of backend components including VoIP softphone, conferencing, and RESTful API services
• Act as the final gating authority for code reviews to ensure standards compliance, security, and performance
• Mentor junior engineers in the VoIP domain, system design, and emerging technologies
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product requirements and conduct integration analysis
• Oversee the documentation of software designs, test results, and technical manuals
• Present and defend architectural and technical choices to both internal and external audiences

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience
• Deep expertise in Voice over IP (VoIP), SIP, and telephony protocols
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, GoLang, Python, or C/C++
• Strong experience with system design and microservices architecture, preferably using Kubernetes
• Hands-on experience with Open-Source Software and SQL or NoSQL databases
• Solid understanding of Linux, network debugging, IP routing, switching, and firewalls in a carrier-grade environment
• Knowledge of commercial SBCs (e.g., Cisco Broadworks, Ribbon) or open-source SIP implementations (e.g., Freeswitch, Kamailio)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
