Development Engineer 4

Responsibilities

• Drive on-time, high-quality software releases across a large number of devices
• Manage the complete release management lifecycle, including scheduling, coordination, and management of deployed devices
• Collaborate daily with Development, Field Triage, and QA teams across different geographical locations
• Ensure stable release branch builds are in good health and provide test guidance to QA teams
• Review machine metrics for video, broadband, and voice functionalities in collaboration with Field Triage
• Prioritize customer Call In Rate, Truck Roll, and performance-related issues for upcoming releases
• Assess and implement new tools and plugins to improve the software release engineering process
• Manage risks and resolve issues affecting release scope, schedule, and quality
• Maintain up-to-date warehouse and factory images and communicate release notes to stakeholders
• Monitor releases using data analysis tools such as Tableau and Haystack

Requirements

• 9-12 years of experience in Engineering and Release Management
• Strong technical background in software engineering and the software development lifecycle
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Linux environments
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Shell
• Experience with SCM tools such as Git, Gerrit, or SVN
• Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration & Delivery (CI/CD) and Jenkins
• Proven experience in an Agile environment
• Knowledge of Broadband software is required
• BE/BTech in Computer Science or a related field
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience in the STB Video domain
• Experience with reporting tools like Tableau, Splunk, or ELK
• Experience with JIRA plugins and Confluence
