Development Director

Responsibilities

• Create and implement the overarching regional fundraising strategy and operational plans
• Manage a high-level portfolio of major individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations
• Drive regional external relations, brand elevation, and public relations
• Staff and provide strategic support to the Regional Advisory Board and Associate Board
• Lead and coach an internal team to meet and exceed aggressive fundraising goals
• Develop and execute innovative fundraising events and social media strategies

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in development or a related role
• 3+ years of team management or leadership experience
• Proven track record of achieving aggressive fundraising goals in the San Francisco Bay Area
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain strong long-term donor relationships
• Experience interpreting financial reports for donors
• Legal eligibility to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in the launch or growth phases of an organization
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, public administration, or a comparable field
• Proficiency with Salesforce or other fundraising databases
• Experience working in the education or literacy sectors
