About the Company

Carmen Schools of Science & Technology (Carmen) is a charter school network in Milwaukee, WI with a mission to graduate all students as critical thinkers and self-directed learners prepared for success in college, meaningful careers, community involvement, and family life.

Responsibilities

• Drive fundraising efforts, annual giving campaigns, and solicitation of individual, corporate, and foundation proposals
• Manage gift proposals, follow-up documents, and acknowledgement letters
• Identify funding opportunities and assist in drafting grant applications
• Maintain contributor databases and provide development reports
• Create and support the Carmen Alumni Board and strengthen alumni relationships
• Maintain the Alumni Database and produce newsletters and networking opportunities
• Attend local events to engage potential donors and build community relationships
• Partner with local agencies to create service and programmatic opportunities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in fundraising, community engagement, or stakeholder engagement
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with the local Milwaukee community
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working for schools or community organizations
• Experience with grant writing and reporting
