Developer Tools Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and build internal frameworks and tooling to support the development and operations lifecycle
• Create test automation frameworks, observability/debugging utilities, and deployment support tools
• Collaborate with developers, infra, and support engineers to identify and solve friction points
• Work across multiple codebases to enhance backend service operability
• Start projects from scratch and drive them through to organization-wide adoption
• Evangelize best practices for code quality, testability, automation, and reliability

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building frameworks, CLIs, SDKs, or developer-facing libraries
• Strong coding proficiency in Python or Java
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, including CI/CD, testing, and debugging
• Deep knowledge of system design concepts such as APIs, databases, and distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud environments
• Ability to design and iterate on tools based on direct user feedback
• Strong communication skills to work effectively across engineering, product, and infra teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging systems like Grafana, Prometheus, Otel, or Influx
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible
• Past contributions to internal tooling or open-source developer tools
• Experience managing testing challenges within large-scale distributed systems
