Developer Relations Evangelist

Responsibilities

• Build, grow, and nurture the developer community across Reddit, social channels, and in-person touchpoints
• Act as the proactive face of AssemblyAI on X, Reddit, LinkedIn, Discord, and Hacker News
• Co-create demos, tutorials, and short-form videos with creators and partners
• Ship demos, sample apps, and technical content to showcase API capabilities
• Travel 40%+ of the time to attend meetups, hackathons, and partner events to live demo realtime APIs
• Execute San Francisco developer event motions including meetups and hackathons
• Partner with product marketing to amplify launches through community activations
• Build relationships with ecosystem partners like LLM providers and voice frameworks

Requirements

• 2–3+ years of experience in developer relations, evangelism, or technical community management
• Technical foundation capable of building API demos and debugging code
• Proven track record of growing developer communities or creator networks
• Strong content creation skills (tutorials, video editing, technical writing)
• High comfort level with public speaking and live demonstrations
• Based in the San Francisco Bay Area with ability to work in the SF office
• Genuine passion for voice AI and AI agents

Preferred Qualifications

• Existing relationships in the SF AI or voice AI ecosystem
• Experience running large-scale hackathons or developer conferences
• A personal technical presence on YouTube, X, GitHub, or via a newsletter
• Experience working within small, fast-moving marketing teams
