Developer Infrastructure Engineer, ML & Robotics Infra

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the build system to ensure builds remain fast, hermetic, and reliable as the codebase grows
• Design and operate CI/CD pipelines that catch regressions early and produce trustworthy release artifacts
• Build packaging, versioning, and signing pipelines for system software, application code, and ML models
• Maintain consistent development containers and dependency management to ensure parity with the robot's Linux environment
• Build and operate the Over-the-Air (OTA) update system, including staged rollouts, canarying, and rollbacks
• Improve developer experience by reducing the time between code ideation and execution on physical robot hardware

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, specifically in build infrastructure, developer tooling, or CI/CD
• Hands-on experience with modern build systems such as Bazel, Buck, or CMake at scale
• Strong background in designing CI/CD pipelines and managing test infrastructure
• Working knowledge of containers (Docker/OCI) and image building tradeoffs
• Experience deploying software to production environments (cloud, embedded devices, or fleets)
• Proficiency in a systems language (C++, Rust, or Go) and Python
• Comfort working on Linux as a target deployment platform

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience using Bazel in a polyglot codebase (C++, Python, and ML toolchains)
• Experience building or operating OTA update systems for embedded devices, vehicles, or robotics fleets
• Experience packaging and deploying ML models via model registries and versioned artifact pipelines
• Familiarity with artifact signing, supply chain security, or reproducible builds
• Background working alongside runtime, robotics, or ML engineering teams
