Developer

Responsibilities

• Manage the lifecycle of affordable housing development projects from underwriting through closing and stabilization
• Lead team-building and mentor junior staff
• Perform financial analysis and prepare investment materials for leadership
• Compile due diligence including financial, market, site, and regulatory data
• Order and review third-party reports such as environmental and cost reviews
• Coordinate community meetings and governmental approval processes
• Manage project pro formas, budgets, schedules, and underwriting assumptions
• Complete documentation for debt/equity financing and government subsidy renewals
• Support analysis of project delays, cost overruns, and construction issues
• Negotiate contracts and review legal documentation
• Lead internal teams and external consultants through conceptual design and entitlements
• Perform pre-development work including zoning and architectural/engineering coordination

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
• 7 years of experience in real estate development or construction
• Experience in affordable housing or multifamily sectors
• Knowledge of LIHTC, Section 8, and Public Housing development
• Strong quantitative, financial analysis, and Excel modeling skills
• Exceptional research, writing, and communication skills
• Strong project management and multitasking abilities
• Ability to work in an entrepreneurial, ambiguous environment
• Willingness to travel as required
