Desktop Support Specialist II

Responsibilities

• Provide desktop and server support for Windows systems including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Assist users with software and hardware issues in Linux and Windows environments
• Perform routine system maintenance and updates across supported platforms
• Monitor system performance and respond to alerts or issues
• Support end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights
• Maintain documentation of procedures, configurations, and system changes
• Collaborate with IT team members on infrastructure improvements and automation projects
• Participate in system upgrades and deployment of new technologies

Requirements

• Recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or 3–5 years of IT support experience
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic to intermediate understanding of Windows desktop and server environments
• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or Python
• Exposure to virtualization platforms like VMware, VirtualBox, or KVM
• Knowledge of remote desktop and remote management tools
• Understanding of IT security principles and best practices
