Designer

Responsibilities

• Perform electric utility pole loading analysis studies using O-CALC or PLS CADD
• Design and layout electric utility distribution system projects in customer GIS and process platforms
• Deliver completed design projects and work orders on time according to customer specifications
• Participate in field data acquisition to accomplish design or monitor equipment performance
• Maintain GIS databases with information from work management systems, as-built drawings, and field reports
• Perform manual or computer-aided drafting using AutoCAD
• Update records and maps in Arc Map
• Produce and distribute construction work orders and job packets
• Communicate effectively with Designers and Engineers

Requirements

• Associates degree from a STEM program (Bachelor of Science preferred)
• Knowledge of Electrical Utility and Communication distribution systems
• Understanding of NESC and NEC codes
• Proficiency in software such as PLS-CADD, O-Calc, or GIS

Preferred Qualifications

• Designer 1: 0-1 years experience with basic math and minimal software exposure
• Designer 2: 1-3 years experience with moderate software and code knowledge
• Designer 3: 3+ years experience with extensive software and advanced code knowledge
