About the role
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end Design Validation Test (DVT) process for complex PCBAs, subassemblies, and full systems.
- Define risk-based DVT strategies, author detailed test plans, and establish stage gates for execution quality.
- Lead board bring-up and power validation, including sequencing, regulator behavior, rail margining, and noise characterization.
- Validate high-speed I/O interfaces (e.g., PCIe, Ethernet) and low-speed management interfaces (e.g., I2C, SPI, USB).
- Drive root-cause analysis (RCA) for validation failures and partner with design teams to implement and verify corrective actions.
- Build and maintain repeatable, automation-friendly benchtop and rack-level validation setups.
- Manage system-level integration validation across electrical, mechanical, thermal, and optical domains.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with EE, ME, FW, and Manufacturing teams to influence design-for-testability.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 8–15+ years of hardware validation or DVT experience on complex board and system-level products.
- Proven track record of owning board bring-up and DVT execution from test plan creation to closure.
- Deep expertise in power delivery validation (sequencing, margining, droop, ripple, and IR drop).
- Strong background in high-speed I/O validation and troubleshooting (PCIe/Ethernet-class links).
- Proficiency with lab instrumentation including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and electronic loads.
- Excellent technical communication skills with the ability to drive decisions using data-driven results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with rack-scale or liquid-cooled systems and validation in environmental chambers.
- Proficiency in Python or similar languages for test automation and data analysis.
- Experience supporting compliance, safety, or EMC efforts during DVT.
- Experience mentoring engineers or technicians in a technical leadership capacity.
