Design to Cost Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and refine cost models and simulations to support design decisions
• Provide data-driven insights and design alternatives to engineering teams
• Assist in identifying cost-reduction opportunities through modeling, benchmarking, and analysis
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing to gather inputs for model development
• Document, present, and communicate findings to support stakeholder decision-making
• Support Cost Forensic activities, including value engineering, benchmarking, and supplier workshops
• Track and report performance metrics related to cost modeling initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
• 0–3 years of relevant experience (internships or co-ops applicable)
• Strong analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills
• Basic project management and communication capabilities
• Ability to work effectively under the direction of senior engineers or project leads

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to cost modeling, value engineering, or cost analysis methodologies
• Experience working in cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and manufacturing
• Familiarity with data analysis or simulation tools
• Interest in supplier cost analysis, benchmarking, or negotiations
• Ability to clearly communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
