Design Technologist

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on the existing design system to assess its state, establish direction, and close the gap between design specs and implementation.
• Build and ship components and tokens while evolving contribution standards with the broader community of designers and engineers.
• Develop and evangelize a point of view on AI-assisted UI development, experimenting with workflows that make AI a reliable collaborator.
• Build and maintain the AI tooling layer for UI, including Claude skills, Cursor rules, and LLM-consumable documentation.
• Partner with designers, engineers, and accessibility experts to improve user experience through better documentation, clearer patterns, and improved tooling.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience at the intersection of design and engineering, with a track record of inheriting and evolving systems.
• Deep fluency in design tokens, component architecture, theming, and accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Strong design craft with the ability to produce polished work and articulate design decisions.
• Proven ability to move seamlessly between design tools (Figma) and production code.
• Experience with LLM-driven tooling and a strong interest in the future of AI-assisted development.
