Design System Manager

Responsibilities

• Audit the existing design system to identify inconsistencies, design debt, and opportunities for improvement.
• Evaluate visual coherence and propose updates aligned with design best practices.
• Manage and maintain design libraries in Figma, ensuring clear nomenclature, versioning, and efficient organization.
• Act as the bridge between design and development teams to ensure components are technically viable and correctly implemented.
• Define and document usage guidelines, design principles, and best practices for consuming teams.
• Ensure the scalability of the design system to accommodate growth and new product needs.
• Collaborate with engineering to connect the design system with code component repositories.
• Lead continuous improvements based on feedback from designers, developers, and product managers.

Requirements

• Background or professional trajectory in digital design (e.g., Product Designer specializing in design systems or UI/Visual Designer).
• Solid experience working with or building design systems for digital products.
• Advanced mastery of Figma, including components, variants, auto-layout, tokens, and libraries.
• Deep knowledge of design system best practices, such as atomic design, nomenclature, and tokenization.
• Understanding of front-end handoff processes, design tokens, and Storybook.
• Ability to identify visual and technical inconsistencies and propose documented solutions.
• Strong communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Residency in Mexico City (CDMX) with availability for a hybrid work model.
