Design Release Engineer - Exterior Trims

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of Body Exterior Trim components such as bumpers, grilles, wheel arch flares, and spoilers
• Perform concept development, feasibility studies, and package reviews
• Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), design modifications, and product updates
• Develop and execute Engineering Design Validation (DV) and Process Validation (PV) plans
• Coordinate DFMEA activities, risk assessments, and issue resolution
• Collaborate with Styling, Manufacturing, Quality, and Purchasing teams
• Ensure compliance with automotive regulations and homologation requirements
• Manage BOM structures, complexity management, and configuration control

Requirements

• 4 to 8 years of experience in automotive Body Exterior Trim design
• Proficiency in UG NX for design and engineering activities
• Hands-on experience with Teamcenter or PLM systems
• Strong understanding of plastic part design, injection molding, and tooling development
• Expertise in DFM/DFA principles, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis
• Experience with component validation, DFMEA, and APQP
• Knowledge of automotive development processes and engineering release workflows

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ENOVIA
• Exposure to CATIA
