Design Quality Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead design quality activities from concept through launch to ensure achievement of quality targets and customer expectations.
• Drive quality target convergence through risk assessments, gap analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering and TECH teams.
• Establish and govern design quality processes, including design assessments, risk management, and lessons learned reviews.
• Coordinate APQP/PPAP activities with engineering, suppliers, and quality teams while monitoring progress and driving issue resolution.
• Prepare and present project quality updates, risk summaries, and readiness assessments to leadership.
• Conduct APQP audits and lead cross-functional escalation meetings to remove roadblocks and support project execution.
• Deliver training on APQP/PPAP, AUROS, and PLMS to engineering, supplier, and quality teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
• Strong working knowledge of APQP and PPAP processes, deliverables, and timing.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional meetings involving Engineering, SQE, Purchasing, and Program Management.
• Proven capability to analyze quality data, identify gaps, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Ability to present complex quality topics clearly to both technical teams and senior leadership.
• Must be a Canadian citizen to be eligible for a TN visa for work in Auburn Hills, MI, USA.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience serving as a quality lead, APQP champion, or design quality representative in a product development environment.
• Strong understanding of interdepartmental workflows across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program teams.
• Experience coaching or training teams on APQP/PPAP, PLM systems, or quality processes.
• Proficiency with PLM systems, APQP dashboards, and quality reporting tools.
