Design Process Engineer III

Responsibilities

• Lead the design for defined project scopes, including unit operations or systems
• Manage project scope, budget, and schedule
• Communicate with clients to identify design requirements and document decisions
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, construction managers, and vendors
• Support technical activities such as HAZOP, risk assessments, and 3D model reviews
• Provide mentorship to junior discipline and design staff
• Prepare Sequence of Operations and review Functional Specifications

Requirements

• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in a discipline-specific field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an operating company, design firm, or AE firm
• Experience developing PFDs, P&IDs, and process layouts
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate experience with industry and regulatory guidance and building codes

Preferred Qualifications

• EIT or PE certification
• Experience managing design within a project team or with construction trade partners
• Experience with RFI responses, submittal reviews, and punch list development
• Basic experience with commissioning, startup, or troubleshooting process systems
