About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as a Design Manager on major property and infrastructure projects, coordinating between lead designers and engineering teams.
- Develop and manage the design programme, ensuring coordination with all internal stakeholders and tracking progress against the programme.
- Coordinate the resolution of risks and issues at the project and design level.
- Facilitate internal interdisciplinary design workshops to explore design concepts and options.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices throughout the design process.
- Coordinate the preparation of design and construction documentation, including drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Support the development of design strategies, project briefs, scopes of work, and design schedules.
- Assist in the completion and handover of projects to clients, ensuring all design deliverables are provided.
Requirements
- Engineering, Architectural, or Design Management degree.
- Chartership or professional accreditation (or actively working towards achieving this in the medium term).
- Proven experience acting as a design manager or coordinator in multi-disciplinary projects.
- Familiarity with RIBA design stages, specifically Stages 1 to 3 including planning submissions.
- Ability to obtain security clearance prior to appointment.
- Highly organized, proactive, and collaborative with strong communication skills.
- A track record of building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships.
