Design Manager – Architecture

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the architectural design process for stations, ancillary buildings, and associated transportation facilities
• Oversee the preparation and review of architectural deliverables across concept, preliminary, and tender stages
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including infrastructure, rail systems, urban planning, MEP, structural, and environmental disciplines
• Ensure station architecture supports passenger flow, accessibility, wayfinding, safety, and operational efficiency
• Monitor design progress to ensure alignment with programme, budget, and project milestones
• Lead design reviews, coordination workshops, risk assessments, and value engineering exercises
• Identify and manage design risks and develop effective mitigation strategies
• Ensure BIM integration and multidisciplinary coordination requirements are implemented across all architectural packages

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from a recognized university
• 15+ years of experience in architectural design
• Proven expertise in rail, metro, airport, or transportation infrastructure projects
• Strong experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and complex design interfaces
• Deep understanding of station planning, passenger flow, and integrated transport environments
• Familiarity with international design standards and local regulatory requirements
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification or membership of a relevant architectural institute
• Proficiency in BIM platforms and architectural coordination tools
• Experience working in complex multi-stakeholder environments, preferably in the GCC
• Experience in projects involving airport integration or intermodal transport hubs
