Design Lead – Data Center Facility Infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of data center infrastructure projects, including electrical, HVAC, and fire suppression systems.
• Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies to assess technical and operational requirements for new projects.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, technical documentation, and Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
• Direct a team of engineers and designers to ensure compliance with Tier and TIA standards.
• Develop design strategies to enhance energy efficiency, scalability, and resilience of facility infrastructure.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to manage project schedules, budgets, and resources.
• Lead equipment vendor selection, contract negotiation, and vendor relationship management.
• Oversee performance testing, commissioning, and regular site inspections to ensure system reliability.
• Mentor and coach a team of engineers to foster a high-performance culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 5+ years of professional experience in MEP or data center infrastructure design.
• Deep knowledge of data center subsystems including electrical, HVAC, and BMS.
• Strong understanding of Tier and TIA standards.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead teams and manage technical specifications and tender documents.

Preferred Qualifications

• CDCP (Certified Data Centre Professional) certification.
• CDCS (Certified Data Centre Specialist) certification.
• ATD (Accredited Tier Designer) certification.
