Design Lead, Consumer

Responsibilities

• Act as a founding player-coach leading a team of senior designers to build and scale Maven's direct-to-consumer healthcare experiences
• Own high-priority product design work while providing formal line management to a small team of practitioners
• Drive 0→1 product development and continuous optimization of live consumer journeys, including onboarding, eligibility, and retention
• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Growth, Data, Clinical, and Legal teams to deliver clinically responsible, whole-person care
• Use research, experimentation, and data to improve funnels, pricing, and activation experiences

Requirements

• 7+ years of product design experience, specifically with complex consumer product journeys and 0→1 growth
• Proven experience managing or leading design teams
• Strong hands-on craft in UX, prototyping, visual design, mobile apps, and responsive web
• A portfolio demonstrating D2C leadership, systems thinking, and measurable product impact
• Experience designing for trust-sensitive domains involving complex decision-making, pricing, or personal data
• Proficiency with an AI-native workflow to improve design quality and team capacity

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, telehealth, digital health, fintech, or consumer subscription marketplaces
• Background designing products involving insurance, benefits, prescriptions, or clinical eligibility
• Experience in highly competitive D2C categories where acquisition and retention are critical
