Design for Manufacture Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and release mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications in accordance with aerospace standards
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program teams to ensure designs meet producibility, cost, schedule, and quality objectives
• Support prototype builds, first article inspections (FAI), and transition from engineering development to production
• Participate in and support Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) assessments and design reviews (PDR, CDR, PRR)
• Support supplier technical engagements, including design reviews and producibility assessments

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related STEM discipline
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in Mechanical Design or Manufacturing Engineering
• U.S. citizenship required
• Ability to possess or obtain a Secret security clearance
• Proficiency with aerospace-relevant CAD tools (e.g., Creo, NX, CATIA, SolidWorks)
• Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly in regulated environments
• Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, and composites

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline or STEM field
• 5+ years of experience in the defense industry
• SAE ASA-100 certification
• Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Certifications
• Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems
