Design Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering design team, providing direction, coaching, and career development support.
• Plan and manage design activities to ensure deliverables are completed safely, accurately, on schedule, and within budget.
• Oversee the development and review of design basis documents, calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Coordinate design reviews, technical assurance activities, constructability reviews, and risk assessments.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and company safety specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers, discipline leads, vendors, and contractors to align design solutions with project objectives.
• Identify design risks and technical constraints, leading the development of practical mitigation plans.
• Drive continuous improvement in design processes, engineering tools, and digital workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of relevant experience in engineering, project management, or operations.
• Significant experience in engineering design, technical assurance, or project execution within a relevant industry.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary design teams and managing design interfaces.
• Strong understanding of design standards, engineering workflows, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to manage design budgets, schedules, resources, and stakeholder expectations.
