Design Engineering Intern

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer design work packages, specifications, and project requirements
• Assist in developing engineering concepts, design proposals, and technical solutions
• Support the creation and maintenance of CAD models, engineering drawings, and design documentation
• Assist in BOM creation, revision control, and engineering change documentation
• Conduct basic engineering calculations and feasibility studies
• Support tolerance stack-up evaluations and design validation activities
• Research materials, manufacturing processes, and industry best practices
• Develop and maintain engineering tracking tools, databases, and dashboards
• Track project deliverables, milestones, and engineering activities
• Support communication between engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and project management teams

Requirements

• Basic understanding of engineering design principles
• Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, Creo, or similar)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Experience with data analysis, Power BI, or engineering dashboards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous academic or internship experience in product design or manufacturing
• Exposure to automotive, retail display, consumer products, or industrial products
