About the role
Responsibilities
- Integrate prototype SoC hardware and firmware into complete system solutions using emulation platforms and validation boards
- Develop, execute, and document feature-level tests to validate SoC hardware blocks and system operation against design specs
- Build and maintain validation infrastructure, including FPGAs, embedded software, device drivers, and test scripts
- Develop block, subsystem, and system-level test firmware and integrate them into automated test suites
- Lead technical activities and mentor junior engineers within the validation team
- Identify, report, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve hardware and firmware bugs
- Run complex investigations in the lab using high-speed test equipment and AI-based tools to improve efficiency
Requirements
- 3–10 years of relevant silicon or SoC validation experience (pre- and/or post-silicon)
- Strong programming and scripting skills in C, C++, and Python or Tcl
- Hands-on lab experience with high-speed test equipment such as oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers
- Demonstrated SoC system-level debug skills across firmware, hardware, schematics, and FPGA environments
- Strong foundation in data communications theory and high-speed signal fundamentals
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SoC performance validation, tuning, and PCIe compliance testing
- Familiarity with prototype board bring-up, schematic reading, and high-speed SERDES testing
- Knowledge of protocols including PCIe, DDR4/5, SAS, SATA, I2C, and SPI
- Experience with pre-silicon emulation and MIPS-based firmware development
- Proficiency with FPGA tools, VHDL/Verilog, or RTOS/ThreadX
