Design Engineer Structures

Responsibilities

• Prepare and self-check design calculations, structural details, sketches, and technical reports in accordance with project requirements and codes.
• Ensure designs are correctly interpreted and represented on drawings, providing necessary sketches for technicians.
• Review shop drawings and perform quality design checks and drawing reviews.
• Coordinate technical documents and ensure markups are delivered to the drafting team in a timely manner.
• Assist Project Managers with correspondence, meetings, and day-to-day communication with the design team.
• Conduct site inspections as instructed and comply with all role-specific SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) obligations.
• Apply safety in design processes to all projects and contribute to the technical development of junior staff.

Requirements

• Registered Civil Engineer recognized by the relevant licensure regulatory board.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in the design of multi-level residential, commercial, and institutional projects.
• Proven experience in the design of both reinforced and post-tensioned concrete, as well as structural steelwork.
• Proficiency in structural design software including RAPT, RAM Concept, Microstran, and ETABS.
• Strong English communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Applications.
• Ability to work both independently and as a collaborative team player in a professional environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within an international design office.
• Familiarity with Australian Standards.
