About the role
Responsibilities
- Design components and systems using CAD and other computer calculation tools to satisfy project objectives
- Apply mechanical engineering principles to design components, systems, and mechanical functions for floor maintenance products
- Interact with suppliers and operations personnel to ensure components meet requirements and are optimized for efficient assembly
- Assist in defining component, system, and machine test plans and interpret results
- Perform engineering analysis to predict behavior of proposed designs and resolve design issues
- Create and catalog appropriate engineering documentation during the design timeframe
- Provide technical support to assembly lines and technical service, assisting in troubleshooting and refinement processes
- Collaborate with Product Management and other departments to define product features, performance, and project goals
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent engineering education
- 4-8 years of experience in mechanical engineering and design
- Proficiency in CREO Software
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (such as LN or SAP)
- Working knowledge of FEA software
- Proficiency in MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Valid US Visa and Passport
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of configuration and change control procedures
- Deep understanding of manufacturing and assembly operation processes
- Knowledge of design decisions affecting durability, customer satisfaction, and product safety
