Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design components and systems using CAD and other computer calculation tools to satisfy project objectives
• Apply mechanical engineering principles to design components, systems, and mechanical functions for floor maintenance products
• Interact with suppliers and operations personnel to ensure components meet requirements and are optimized for efficient assembly
• Assist in defining component, system, and machine test plans and interpret results
• Perform engineering analysis to predict behavior of proposed designs and resolve design issues
• Create and catalog appropriate engineering documentation during the design timeframe
• Provide technical support to assembly lines and technical service, assisting in troubleshooting and refinement processes
• Collaborate with Product Management and other departments to define product features, performance, and project goals

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent engineering education
• 4-8 years of experience in mechanical engineering and design
• Proficiency in CREO Software
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (such as LN or SAP)
• Working knowledge of FEA software
• Proficiency in MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Valid US Visa and Passport

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of configuration and change control procedures
• Deep understanding of manufacturing and assembly operation processes
• Knowledge of design decisions affecting durability, customer satisfaction, and product safety
