Design Engineer

About the Company

Maple is building AI agents for restaurants that handle calls, orders, and appointments via natural voice. Their mission is to build automated ontologies that model how businesses operate, allowing agents to adapt to diverse workflows and constraints instantly.

Responsibilities

• Build product-facing and internal tools using TypeScript, React, and Tailwind
• Design and implement intuitive ways for customers to manage AI agents and define business logic
• Develop reusable components and own the emerging design system
• Prototype new features, test them with customers, and ship fast
• Help define the approach to UI architecture, scaling, and visual systems
• Work closely with founders, engineers, and customers

Requirements

• Strong experience in React, TypeScript, CSS, and modern frontend workflows
• High product taste and systems thinking
• Experience designing and building tools, dashboards, or configuration UIs
• Ability to own full features from wireframe to code
• 4–8+ years of experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Figma
• Experience with LLMs
• Experience with conversational interfaces
• Experience with backend TypeScript
